SANTA CLARA, CA, June 23, 2025 — Minew, a global leader in IoT device manufacturing, and InPlay Inc., a pioneer in ultra-low-power wireless connectivity, are showcasing their newly released MTB11 Ambient Light Harvesting Asset Tag this week at Sensors Converge 2025 in Santa Clara, California.

MTB11 Minew & Inplay

Officially launched earlier this month, the MTB11 is the first mass-produced, battery-free Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) tracker powered entirely by ambient indoor light. It delivers a maintenance-free, low-carbon solution for scalable IoT deployments — without disposable batteries, wiring, or manual upkeep.

“The MTB11 perfectly showcases what InPlay’s NanoBeacon SoC was built for,” said Jason Wu, CEO of InPlay Inc. “With unmatched power efficiency and simplicity, we’re enabling battery-free wireless connectivity at scale — paving the way for the next generation of sustainable IoT devices.”

Engineered at two-thirds the size of a credit card, the MTB11 is optimized for high-density environments such as warehouses, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing sites. It features efficient indoor energy harvesting and ultra-low-power wireless performance, supporting up to 10 years of operation depending on configuration and light availability — all without the use of chemical batteries.

With production forecast to reach 1 million units over the next three years and projected annual growth exceeding 30%, Minew expects the MTB11 to support the next wave of truly sustainable, large-scale IoT deployments.

“The MTB11 is more than a product — it’s a practical step forward for sustainable asset intelligence,” said Eason Huang, Product Director at Minew. “Together with energy harvesting technology and InPlay’s ultra-low-power BLE SoC , we’ve eliminated two major challenges: power anxiety and signal reliability.”

Real-World Applications of MTB11:

  • Smart Warehousing

Attach to bins, racks, or mobile equipment for real-time asset visibility — with no battery maintenance required.

  • Medical Equipment Tracking

Track infusion pumps or mobile carts in hospitals while maintaining hygiene and minimizing power risks.

  • Smart Display Monitoring

Enable autonomous operation of digital displays in showrooms, exhibitions, and retail spaces with consistent lighting.

  • Visitor & Personnel Management

Support indoor positioning for staff, visitors, and contractors in large facilities using BLE-based Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS).
